I want one of these. Have since I was 12. There was a maroon one for sale that I saw every morning on my way to school my sophomore year. By the time I had the money to buy it, it was gone.
Like, I think I might trade my GTV6 for one, if I could find someone wanting to swap an '88 GT runner with a 5-speed.

if you find one in pretty damn good shape, do it. But that is the only way because da GTV6 is rad also

No. You are not insane.
I had a school teacher who was 6' 5" and drove one daily. He had his seat specially modified to fit, and loved it.

An 88 in great condition, with an LNF from a turbo Cobalt SS would be a fun car.

I wouldn't be too upset, those are still fairly easy to come by.

Insane for wanting one? Certainly not.
Insane for trading a GTV6 for one? Um...

My father and I got an 88 GT as a project car, what a piece of junk those are. Don't do it.

Had an '88. Loved it. Wish I hadn't sold it, but traded toward a supercharged 5.0
